Getting started
Build and publish your first app
Build a tip calculator, check the result, publish a link, and keep a copy of your code. Free plan; no API key required.
Make a working tip calculator, ask for an improvement, and publish a link you can open on your phone. This guide uses the Free plan and the built-in Rigless agent. You need a browser and a verified account; no local development tools or API key are required.
Free includes limited AI usage. If you reach that allowance, you can wait for it to replenish or use a supported provider key. Learn about plans and usage.
1. Open your workspace
Create your account. If the app asks you to verify your email, follow the message in your inbox. Use Check or resend your verification email if it has not arrived.
After signing in, open Create. You should see What do you want to build? and a place to describe your idea. Free already uses the Browser workspace and built-in agent, so you can start with the default settings.
2. Give the agent a complete first task
Paste this into the description field, then select the upward arrow, Build it:
Build a responsive tip calculator using only index.html, styles.css, and app.js.
Let me enter a bill total in dollars, a tip percentage, and the number of people.
Show the total including tip and the amount each person pays, rounded to two decimals.
Show a clear error for negative amounts or fewer than one person.
Use large inputs and readable text on a phone.
Do not require a backend, package installation, or a build command.
Rigless opens the project and starts writing the files. If it asks a question, answer it and select Continue building. Wait for the run to finish before publishing.
3. Check the result yourself
Open the app preview offered with the result. Enter a bill of 80, a tip of 20%, and 4 people. The total should be $96.00, with $24.00 per person.
Try zero people and a negative bill amount. You should see a useful error rather than a broken calculation. On a phone, check that you can read the result and change each input without sideways scrolling.
In Free Browser workspaces, the agent edits source files and you test the app in the browser. Automated command execution and runtime checks require a hosted workspace.
If something is wrong, describe the action and the result in the project conversation. For example:
When I enter 80 for the bill, 20 for the tip, and 4 people, I get the wrong
per-person amount. It should be 24.00. Inspect the calculation and fix it.
4. Ask for one improvement
Send a follow-up request in the same project:
Add quick buttons for 15%, 18%, and 20% tips. Keep the percentage editable
so I can enter a different value. Preserve the existing validation.
When the agent finishes, try the buttons and repeat the calculation check. Your conversation and project files are saved privately to your Rigless account.
5. Publish a link
On desktop, choose Publish. On a phone, open the three-dot Session menu and choose Publish app.
Review the app name and proposed URL, then choose Publish app in the dialog. Free includes one branded static site, with a published artifact limit of 25 MiB.
When publishing succeeds, open the URL in a private browser window and repeat the calculation. This checks the version visitors will actually use. Your editable project remains private; publishing creates a separate public release.
See the publishing guide for updating a release or resolving a publishing failure.
6. Return to your work
Sign in again and open the project from your recent projects. You can do this from another browser or device using the same account. The saved source files and conversation should be there.
To keep a separate copy, open the three-dot Session menu and choose Export project ZIP. Follow Export and run your code to try that copy on your own computer.
If you get stuck
What you see | Next step |
|---|---|
An email-verification reminder | Open the reminder and resend the message; check the mailbox used for this account |
The agent is waiting for an answer | Answer its question and choose Continue building |
No usable app preview | Ask the agent to ensure |
A request for packages or a server | Keep this example to plain HTML/CSS/JavaScript, or move to a hosted workspace for that requirement |
An AI allowance message | Follow the reset information shown or connect a supported provider key |
A publishing limit | Check your existing app in Apps and the limits in the publishing guide |
If the problem persists, contact support@rigless.ai with the project URL, the action you took, and the exact error. Do not include passwords or API keys.
For your next project, work on a GitHub repository with hosted compute, or compare Browser and hosted workspaces to choose the right starting point.
